With the nomination process underway and polling dates inching closer in other phases in UP, many political leaders have taken up the election rallies with sharp, crusty and out-of-the-box slogans to connect with voters.
Apart from election manifestos and promises, rhyming slogans are here an instantaneous hit. Among many other slogans, the recent one made by emboldened Dimple Yadav, ‘Mere Angane Mein Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai, Jo Hai Naam Wala Wahi Toh Badnaam Hai’ has been in much speculation. So we thought of understanding the real meaning of this jibe.
Clad in cotton saree and her small bindi, Dimple Yadav recently offered the dialogue in Allahabad – Mere Angane Mein Tumhara Kya Kaam Hai, borrowed from the 80s-blockbuster movie ‘Lawaaris’ starring Amitabh Bachchan. She very strongly and vehemently was telling the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), what business do you have in my home? Bhabhi ji also added that only those who are famous are the ones who are defamed by people.
She also pointed out that PM Modi’s criticism only comes during elections and wherever there is development work undertaken by the Akhilesh government, the purpose being to mislead the people without any real facts. Dimple also targeted BJP leaders for spreading misinformation and defaming Uttar Pradesh. “Those who have made such statements have failed to provide a CM face in the elections, whereas under Akhilesh emerged as a successful leader and led the state to development,” she said. Her speech was collectively cheered by thousands of people who had gathered to listen to “Dimple Bhabhi” as she is popularly known in the state.
Further in her speech, Dimple urged the people to vote for Akhilesh Yadav for the development he has done in the state and she received a huge applause throughout her heavy-duty speech.
Dimple has been addressing several rallies in Uttar Pradesh and has emerged as a key campaigner of the Samajwadi Party.
The demand for her presence in rallies is only rising. Dimple Yadav is the ‘woman face’ of the party and has become quite a nightmare for the opposition parties who have started to feel threatened by her presence off late. Marching ahead with an aggressive approach in the election yatras and mastering the art of one-liners, bhabhi ji is surely giving political goals to many.
