Employment generation, training unemployed youth, Samajwadi Pension for artisans and rural poor, drinking water schemes for Bundelkhand, nutrition scheme for pregnant women, new engineering university, new state university, three new engineering colleges are only some of the major upcoming plans of Samajwadi Party government to be launched from the next financial year.
Under the banner of ‘Lucknow Haat Project’, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has recently inaugurated the newly built Awadh Shilp Gram. The Shilp Gram is an eco-friendly zone to boost art and craft in the region. This Shilp Gram near Shaheed Path houses more than 200 shops, including open courts, food plaza, exhibition hall, dormitories, kids play area and other services. Built in red stone, the ‘Haat’ saw thousands of people flocking on its inaugural day.

The Awadh Shilp Gram, part of the Awadh Gram Yojna of the housing board near Shaheed Path, is much like the Delhi Haat which is a hangout destination for a lot of people.
The Shilp Gram is spread across 20 acres of lush green campus, which houses a large number of shops where artisans from across the state can showcase their products. One can find the demonstration of various handicrafts from the remote corners of India, lavish culinary delights including street food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies of Awadh and other states. The Awadh Shilp Gram is sure to be a centre of attraction in Lucknow with these things to offer.
Pension Scheme for Artisans
Uttar Pradesh government has launched a pension scheme – ‘Samajwadi Hastshilp Pension Yojna’ with annual fiscal provision of Rs 10 crore. The objective of the scheme is to provide social security for the artisans engaged in different crafts. On the inaugural day of Shilp Gram, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav honoured 5,000 shortlisted artisans, weavers, entrepreneurs, exporters and other beneficiaries of Samajwadi Yuva Swarojgaar Yojna and Samajwadi Hast Shilp Pension Yojna. The chief minister promised the artisans that the state government is committed to their development and prosperity, and would soon announce some more welfare schemes for them. Principal secretary MSME, Rajneesh Dubey said that the initiatives taken by the state government were yielding results and reports suggested a growth in the state’s share in the country’s export pie.
The recent reports have shown a growth in the state’s share in the country’s export pie and Uttar Hamara feels that Samajwadi Party government has brought a turnaround in the state by strengthening the social sector for weaker sections!
