The honourable CM of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Akhilesh Yadav laid the foundation stone for Akshaya Patra centralised kitchens on 26th December, 2016 at Lok Bhavan, New Secretariat -Lucknow in a one-of-a-kind ceremony.

With the coming of these brand-new kitchens, the reach will be expanded to serve more than 1.3 million children per day, which makes this the foundation’s largest intervention in India.

Enabling a Healthy Body, Attentive Mind and a Brighter Future for Children

The inauguration of 11 new district level kitchens in Uttar Pradesh was a landmark event signalling the delivery of better nutrition, better education and a better future for the beneficiaries. What touched our hearts was how humbly the state’s chief, Akhilesh Yadav engaged himself in serving food to young school children and interacting with them during this inaugural event.

It’s always endearing to see how effortlessly the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh connects with all age groups and leaves a positive example for others.
