Agriculture Initiatives in Uttar Pradesh
Both economically and socially, Uttar Pradesh the largest state in the republic of India as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world. The government has successfully established Agricultural Marketing hubs across the state to ensure rural development and better pricing of their produce for the farmers. The government declared these two years as Kisan Varsh during which they announced several pro-farmer schemes, including free irrigation, 1,000 one-stop shops for Agricultural products, Rs 131 crore for certified seeds, Rs 600 crore for farmers’ accident insurance and Rs 778 crore under the National Agriculture Development Scheme. This shows that Akhilesh’s most significant allocations have come up in the areas that are likely to pose the deepest roots for priority sector.
Infrastructure Highlights – Metro, Expressways and Four Lane Roads
To give a boost to the economy of the state, Lucknow Metro and Agra Lucknow Expressway are being constructed and will be operational by the end of 2016. The government has connected four lane district headquarters that has paved the way for the welfare of commuters. Uttar Pradesh Government has generated enough resources to not only build roads but also make them accident free zones. Special care has been taken to minimise the accidents, in order to prevent fatality rate at Noida Expressway.
Digital Development Initiatives in Uttar Pradesh
After a full-fledged roll out of Akhilesh Yadav’s official smartphone application, his government plans to digitize public departments and vitalize the existing ones under different e-schemes. The bilingual Samajwadi Akhilesh app lets the audience connect directly with Samajwadi Party’s social platforms and know about the digital development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh, events and achievements. His government introduced a smartphone health app namely ‘M-Sehat’ across all districts to track state’s health services accurately. The app lets nurses-midwives, medical officers, ASHA workers and other health workers record maternal and infant data in real-time and keep record of steps to lower mother-child death rate. Women Empowerment and special emphasis on Law and Order
In Uttar Pradesh, CM Akhilesh Yadav’s government has taken “historical” decisions for empowering women that has shown great results. The government has started schemes for their education, economic independence and health concerns and they are now showing results.
To improve Law and Order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav’s government has cited various government run schemes of women empowerment like ‘1090′ Women power line, a 1090 mobile application, constituting the Rani Lakshmibai Mahila Samman Kosh that aims to ensure monetary and medical relief to women who are victims of violence and for educational assistance under which minor children of such victims are given educational and medical assistance when required. Through this organization, assistance is provided for those women/girl children who may not be direct victims of violence and require critical social and economic empowerment. He has also launched the Kanya Vidya Dhan which is given to class XII pass girls for higher education. Other good practices like Dampatti Puraskar Yojna, Hamari Beti Uska Kal, Aasha Jyoti Kendra, Pink autos for Lucknow eves for a safe ride and Sheroes hangout to acid attack victims are the provisions that Uttar Pradesh government has gifted to women.

MSMEs – Uttar Pradesh has made significant progress in promoting the growth of MSMEs and has evidently been able to exceed targets set in the 11th Five Year Plan, to generate 6.5 lakh employment opportunities by establishing 1.65 MSME units across the state.
Best State Award for Skill Development – Under the leadership of CM Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has been incorporated in order to achieve the target to skill over 4 million youth by the end of the 12th Five Year Plan and this mission has been awarded by the Government of India best state across India in skill development. Uttar Pradesh was awarded at the “Summit cum Awards on Skilling India – The Way Forward”, organised by ASSOCHAM in Delhi on Tuesday, 15th of March.
IT City – 100 Acre IT City is also a part of flagship projects of Akhilesh Yadav, which is being constructed in Lucknow. Technology group HCL, India’s fourth largest IT services company, has planned to complete its Rs 1,500 crore Lucknow IT City project by October 2016. This will provide job opportunities for about 25, 000 people in Uttar Pradesh. HCL has decided to use prefab technology in the project for faster completion.
The 100-acre IT City is a part of the mega CG City, being planned on Lucknow-Sultanpur highway. It will include IIT, Medicity, Super specialty hospital/cardiology centre, UP Administrative Academy, Diary processing plant, CSI Tower, Cultural school and Modern township.
Uttar Pradesh as the Most Eco-Friendly State
Guinness Book of World Record for Plantation Drive – Uttar Pradesh has earned itself a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the state’s green drive under which 10 lakh saplings were planted in one day within eight hours. This performance setting certificate was awarded to Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh – Akhilesh Yadav. Moreover, the environmentalist has big plans for the state – eco-friendly cycle tracks for school children, green belts, drinking water, and state-wide plantation drives.
Solar Power Plants – Uttar Pradesh government has welcomed Rockefeller Foundation’s initiative that aims to bring electricity to one million Indians across 1000 villages in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by 2018. The state has also established Solar Power Plants for the improvement of availability of power in rural areas.
Cycle Tracks across UP – As developed nations have included cycling tracks in their road conduct for a smooth traffic movement, our Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has decided to include cycling tracks in the planning of new towns. Cycle tracks in Lucknow and Agra have already been constructed and department is engaged in construction of similar tracks in cities like Noida, Varanasi, Kanpur and Allahabad.
