Our person of the week is Sanjay Vijayakumar, who played a key role in setting up India’s first technology business incubator on PPP model in Kerala. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Governors of Startup Village.
Vijayakumar has been appointed as an advisor and mentor by the Uttar Pradesh government for its newly unveiled IT and Startup Policy 2016. He has been tasked by our state government to ‘foster entrepreneurship and promote innovation by creating an ecosystem that is conducive for the growth of startups in the state.’ Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav met him recently and expressed his admiration for the Startup Village and its pioneering role in creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem for students in the country.
“Involvement of the state chief ministers to spread message of entrepreneurship is very critical in bringing about the mindset change as startup is a new way of thinking,” says Sanjay Vijayakumar.
Startup Village has signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh government to launch its flagship programme #StartInCollege in the state.
Uttar Hamara congratulates Sanjay Vijayakumar for his great efforts and creating a startup ecosystem in our state!
