The prime duty of my government is to extend security to people and deal sternly with criminals.
~ Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav
World’s largest emergency response system UP-100 is all set to be operational from 19 November, 2016 across all rural and urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. To enhance and modernize policing and law and order handling in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has launched UP-100 service which is ready to change the way people think of Uttar Pradesh.
People in any area of Uttar Pradesh can now feel safe and secure at all hours as the dynamic CM has directed all the officials to adopt a ‘Zero Tolerance’ attitude on law and order related issues. The service has been designed to empower people in the state, reduce the response time of police during times of need and thereby aims at facilitating seamless coordination and communication with the people.
“Shehar Ya Dehaat
Din Ho Ya Raat
Hoga Sabke Saath”
Akhilesh had recently reviewed the progress of the project. He had inspected the state-of-the-art call command centre in Lucknow and showed his satisfaction in the project’s technical aspects and its timely progress. The digitization work for the state’s map has been completed and it has extensive location details about rural areas in the state.

A Huge Fleet of 4800 Vehicles for UP 100
4800 vehicles would be active in 75 districts of the state, of which 3200 will be four wheelers and 1600 two wheelers. 700 Innovas and 2500 Bolero cars would be super active. All these vehicles have been painted in black and equipped with GPS and other modern equipment. The response time under dial 100 has been fixed as ten minutes for two-wheelers in urban areas and 15 minutes for four wheelers while in rural areas the response time for four wheelers has been mandated as 20 minutes.
UP-100 Service Available on APP too
With an easy interface, an app with the name ‘UP 100 Emergency Services’ has been developed and launched to provide UP 100 services promptly. In case of emergency, information like gender, age, location, and language fed up in the app will assist the police reaching the location on time.
While registering under the app, a citizen can give up to five numbers to be contacted during emergency. In case of emergency, an SMS will be sent to all registered persons’ mobile phone. Similarly, five locations could be registered which will automatically give the geographical coordinates of the location.
When a registered user calls ‘UP100’ in emergency, his/her registered locations will be displayed on the officer’s screen which will assist the team to quickly reach the spot.
