A fighter jet may land at Agra-Expressway as Akhilesh Yadav wants to throw open his dream project with a style on November 21 as Chief Minister will inaugurate slew of development projects next week.
A highly placed source in UPEIDA said that the Agra-Lucknow Expressway will be inaugurated at the 2 km long airstrip which is earmarked for emergency landing of fighter planes.
“The talks are underway with IAF to test land a fighter jet at designated place on November 21 – the day Agra-Lucknow Expressway will be inaugurated. We hope Uttar Pradesh Government will get the green signal,” the official said. Officials said that creating a record of sort by constructing the country’s longest expressway in shortest 22 month time, Mulayam Singh Yadav, along with other family members, would be attending the inaugural function to be held between Kannauj and Hardoi on the expressway.
The other projects that will be inaugurated next week include Gomti River Front and Dial 100 scheme. As the ambitious Lucknow Metro Rail project could not be completed in time, the CM will only inaugurate trial run of the train in the first phase. The date of the launch will be announce later.
It is learnt that Chief Minister will inaugurate the first phase of Gomti Riverfront project on November 16. At present around 2 kilometer area of the Gomti river Front near Lohia bridge would be thrown open for the people after inauguration which will have pathway, cycle track, band play and some other facilities.
On November 18, the CM would be inaugurating the Literary festival in Lucknow.
However, the most important project of the Samajwadi Party government, Dial -100 which has now been rechristened as UP-100 would be inaugurated in 11 cities of the state on November 19.
