CM Akhilesh Yadav launches 300 projects in 4 hours
Running against time to beat the imposition of Election Commission’s code of conduct for the forthcoming state elections, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated over 300 projects and laid the foundation stone of about dozen of them -all worth approximately Rs 60,000 crore -at seven venues in the state capital in just four hours on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he launched a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre for their `surgical strikes and agenda which changes every 15 days’. “Starting with love jihad, it has now turned into note ban,” he said, adding “this has retarded our economic growth and farmers and labour class has suffered severely.” From hospitals to stadium and from kisan bazar to milk processing unit -the projects covered a wide range of facilities for the people of Uttar Pradesh. A large number of projects were for other cities as well.
Prominent among the projects he launched were JP International Centre’s sports block, a cancer institute, international cricket stadium, Amul’s processing units in Lucknow and Kanpur, a kisan bazar in the state capital besides various infrastructure projects constructed at the CG City . Besides, he also launched over 252 roads and bridges across the state and laid the foundation stone of Shaan-e-Awadh, a mall to be run by the Lucknow Development Authority and a host of health facilities in the city.
