One of the three flagship projects of the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh, for laying the path to permanent development of Uttar Pradesh include the 100 Acre IT City, the others being Lucknow Metro and Agra Lucknow Expressway. “The IT city in Lucknow would become the land mark of the state. This industry will change the face of UP as people from other states will also come to UP for job,” Yadav said while reviewing the progress made in the IT city.
Technology group HCL, India’s fourth largest IT services company, is going to complete its Rs 1,500 crore Lucknow IT City project by October 2016. The clock is ticking for a move that will help create job opportunities for about 25, 000 people in Uttar Pradesh. HCL has decided to use prefab technology in the project for faster completion. During a recent review meeting, Akhilesh Yadav had directed his officials to ensure that the IT City projects starts functioning by October 2016. The Chief Minister was apprised of various bottlenecks in the project after which he ordered regular monitoring of the project. “Regular monitoring will help in completing the project in fixed timeline,” he said. He also pointed out that the Samajwadi government was working for speedy and comprehensive development so that UP could be made a front-ranking state in the country. “To achieve this target timely completion of infrastructure projects is necessary,” CM added.
The 100-acre IT City is a part of the mega CG City, being planned on Lucknow-Sultanpur highway. It will include
- IIT (50 acres)
- Medicity (100 acres)
- Super specialty hospital/cardiology centre (20 acres)
- UP Administrative Academy (25 acres)
- Diary processing plant (20 acres)
- CSI Tower (5 acres)
- Cultural school (10 acres)
- Modern township over 511 acres
The project would be a “Stellar-Model” for India wherein both training and employment opportunities would be provided at one place along with hostel facilities. HCL is working well to complete this project by the year end.
