A single mother, a radio jockey, a teacher, a sub-editor and a businesswoman yet always on the lookout to learn something new in life from the people she meets.
Vera started her career as a teacher of Drama and English at the Mahanagar branch of the City Montessori School, Lucknow. After that she gained professional experience as a sub-editor at the office of the English daily, Hindustan Times. She was there at the launch of the first edition of the Hindustan Times from Lucknow in 2000. In 2001, she was the first to introduce Radio City in Lucknow on-air. She is completely self-made and doesn’t want to get married.
After 13 years of hosting the morning show RJ Vera has now come up with her own RJ training institute where she trains you to perfection. She is also running her own business of masala bhel-puri that will tickle your taste buds.
Out of all the achievements, the greatest was her firm decision to adopt a girl child. She has adopted a baby girl and named her ‘Vernica’. Two and half year old Vernica studies in La-Martiniere, Lucknow branch. She imitates Vera, hangs a bag like her and always tries to become like Vera.
Vera’s independence reflects in her voice. She plays music and inspires her listeners to live as free as a bird. She is the true epitome of love, happiness and nobility.
