Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav revamped the state-wide integrated emergency services UP-100 in Lucknow two months back. The UP-100 is the official name of Uttar Pradesh Police Emergency Management System previously called dial 100 project.
The new high-tech centralized emergency system will ensure that police reach a caller in a maximum of twenty minutes in rural areas and within 15 minutes in urban areas.
The UP 100 has been established to provide emergency services relating to public safety across the state round-the-clock.
A centralized contact centre has been established at Lucknow for receiving emergency calls directly from across the state. After inaugurating the system, Yadav underlined that people need not to go to police, instead police will reach them on time.
The good news is that ‘UP 100’, the round the-clock state-wide integrated police emergency response system, has got operational in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh from January 7. The facility so far is available in 53 districts and is made operational in the remaining 22 districts.
‘UP100’ service was first made functional in 11 districts at its launch on November 19th by the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Uttar Pradesh Police is aiming to link the entire state in another 10-12 days. The expansion of the service is carried out in five phases.
