“Tourism will be accorded the status of industry and all facilities will be extended to this sector to make the visit to Uttar Pradesh a pleasant experience for tourists.” ~ Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh
True to his words, the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav has done a lot of work when it comes to developing tourism in the state. Uttar Pradesh government over the last four and a half years has worked towards some noteworthy development agendas to boost state’s tourism sector with first of its kind initiatives like The Heritage Arc, Taj Mahotsav, Hot Air Balloon festival, Sarus Day, State Tourism Day and the World Bank funded Pro-poor Tourism project to name a few. Now Akhilesh Yadav government has decided to come up with a unique theme park in Agra.
Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation has signed a MoU with Sanjay Khan on behalf of Kingdom Company for a theme park in Agra. This one-of-its-kind theme park in India would not only be UP’s pride but will also generate many employment opportunities. During the official launch of the Theme Park at Agra, Akhilesh Yadav said that this project will create infrastructure properties in and around the world and will attract visitors from across the globe.
Agra Theme Park will have 7 themes
Agra theme park would have themes of various cities from India which will be explored through a mono rail within the park. Every distinctive theme would include ancient, medieval, modern history and glimpses of the great cultural heritage of the Mohanjodaro, Patliputra, Ramayan and Mahabharat era. The project is to be developed in four phases and will take close to ten years for completion. This architectural marvel is going to be yet another destination for travel enthusiasts visiting Agra to see the eternal Taj Mahal.
What makes reaching Agra and exploring its tourist spots more exciting and convenient is the largest 6 lane Agra-Lucknow Expressway which would soon be functional. It is happy days for tourism in Uttar Pradesh and projects like these only reinstate the fact that UP is now rising up in the to-do travelling list of thrill seekers, heritage loves and families like never before. With better road connectivity, tourism policies and exciting new tourist additions like this theme park, India’s most culturally diverse state is ready to see more and more tourists exploring the beauty and grandness of Uttar Pradesh.
