 We have bridged the digital divide. ~ Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh has transformed into a digitally savvy state under the dynamic leadership of Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh government has taken many digital initiatives to empower digital growth in the state. The first step towards creating a digital revolution in Uttar Pradesh was taken in 2012 when Chief Minister distributed free laptops to meritorious students across rural and urban UP.

Telecom can empower rural Uttar Pradesh, and the use of mobile phones can be a strong wave of advancement. With a vision to bridge the digital divide in rural UP, Akhilesh government has announced ‘Free Mobile Handsets Scheme’ in the Samajwadi Party manifesto for 2017 elections.

Welcoming Oppo and Micromax to the State

Yesterday, the chief minister met delegates from mobile companies Oppo Electronics Corporation and Micromax, and assured the delegations necessary help under the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2014.

Akhilesh Yadav has recently signed a flex-agreement with Lava International Limited. The agreement was signed between Lava International Ltd. and UPSDM. Akhilesh government has offered all help to further expand its second production unit in Noida.

One of the fastest growing multi-national mobile headset company Lava International Limited has recently found its home in Uttar Pradesh. Last year in April, the company had set up its first plant in Noida which has been delivering over 1 million phones per month. With its second unit established in January 2016, the total plant production will be increased to around 2.50 million units.

Besides the two assembly units, the company has also planned to set up a greenfield manufacturing unit at Yamuna Expressway.

Apart from these, Akhilesh Yadav government is also planning to connect key projects of government with 4G connectivity. For this, the state government has asked the private operator to strengthen 4G network in government buildings and police stations so that the work could smoothly be executed without interruption.
