Mayawati or Akhilesh who can be a better Chief Minister for Uttar Pradesh?

Uttar Pradesh 2017 assembly polls are going to be most significant and the elections will be fought on the “Agenda of Development”. A government has been repeated in Tamil Nadu after 32 years. In West Bengal and Bihar, a government has been repeated. Based on Development, Samajwadi Party can return to power again in Uttar Pradesh too.

Here are the most important things you need to know about the BSP leader Mayawati and the true Samajwadi, Akhilesh Yadav.

  1. Akhilesh Vs Mayawati – Style of Governance

Akhilesh Yadav is the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and is leading Samajwadi Party for the very first time, whereas Mayawati is an Indian Politician who served four terms and is the National President of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Bahujan Samaj Party works on the principle of Social Change to improve the standard of weaker section of society. In contrast, Samajwadi Party believes in equality and the party has a democratic outlook. The party also believes in uplifting the weaker strata of society. Akhilesh Yadav being a true Samajwadi believes in development for one and all.

Both these leaders have a very different perspective for connecting to people. Akhilesh Yadav connects to people very well and has a strong presence on Social Media platforms like Twitter and Facebook, while Mayawati has no social media presence and very limited outlets to reach out to the people.

  1. Akhilesh Vs Mayawati – Agenda and Vision

Akhilesh Yadav government has projected Uttar Pradesh as a “Land of Unlimited Potential” and works on development agenda. He along with his party has paced ahead on the path of development. Samajwadi Party has stitched up schemes in a transparent manner which has benefitted the every section of the society. The rural and urban UP, women, children, youth and farmers. On the other hand, Mayawati with a myopic view believed in limited growth and that too of a very selective target group mainly being the lower strata of the state.  Mayawati government didn’t believe in e-governance and kept communication and transparency of government functioning very limited. Celebrating her birthdays, spending crores of funds on building statues and possessing huge lands and property seemed to be Mayawati’s main agenda and vision for the state.

What has been the vision and agenda of Akhilesh Yadav? The answer is total development. Another agenda has been to bring in digitization. E-governance in Uttar Pradesh is poised to take a big leap as the current Akhilesh government has lined up a lot of initiatives to empower the citizens. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh has strengthened several departments under e-schemes.

A set of accomplished goals clearly depict Akhilesh Yadav’s undeniable love for technology. The bilingual ‘Samajwadi Akhilesh’ app lets the audience connect directly with the Samajwadi Party’s social platforms and give knowledge about digital initiatives in the state, events and achievements. He has launched several apps that are running smoothly and have shown great results. These include M-Sehat – An app to track state’s health services accurately where all ASHA workers, nurses, midwives, medical officers and other health officers work together. Apart from these, Modernization of Police Force, Employment Portal sewayojan.up.nic.in, UP Police Lost report application, Boost Your Business initiative, Integrated Grievance Redressal System, web portal UP News 360, Shakti 1090 mobile app to improve law and order, are working successfully and proving to be a big boon to the people of the state.

The state has witnessed a high rate of Economic growth, which is also amongst the wins of Akhilesh Yadav.
