Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are approaching, time for which all of have been waiting for has finally come. We all have same questions in our mind that whom should we vote for. Has Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav done well in his 1st tenure, has he done enough, should we choose him back? Looking at last 4 years, considerable progress has been done in Uttar Pradesh and we are highlighting 5 reasons, why we should vote for Akhilesh:
- Introduced Metro
Special attention has been paid to give Lucknow the status it deserves as a state capital with considerable progress on the infrastructure development schemes like the Lucknow Metro. Lucknow City has a population of three million. A faster, modern transport system was needed for a growing city like Lucknow to facilitate faster commuting and de-congesting the increasing road traffic. The state government has also launched metro rail projects in other cities as well such as Kanpur and keen to launch in Varanasi, Agra and Meerut.
- Brought in an IT City
The IT City Project in Lucknow was inaugurated in October 2014. This will bring great employment opportunities in the state. As per officials, the number of direct employment opportunities that we expect to be generated from the project will eventually go up from 3000 to around 25,000, once the construction of the entire IT City is completed. The talent of the state will now be happy to work in their very own IT City.
- Digitized the state
Even before Digital India campaign launched in 2014, Akhilesh Yadav led Uttar Pradesh government started digitization of UP way back in 2012 by distributing laptops free of cost to meritorious Class XII pass students. According to govt officials, it has drastically removed computer illiteracy from rural UP. Also, by launching the much-awaited Samajwadi Akhilesh app Akhilesh, the Digital CM of India proved that he is all set to digitize the government as well.
- Developed Health and Infrastructure
Akhilesh govt has given special focus on development particularly in health and infrastructure by constructing new hospitals, modern maternity wings, new health centres and emergency services like 108 and 102 in Uttar Pradesh. By launching Lucknow Metro, Agra- Lucknow Expressway and other projects of four lane roads, hospitals, affordable housing schemes and cycle tracks, Akhilesh has left no stone unturned to give the state a major makeover.
- Green Initiatives and Sustainable Development
Akhilesh also included cycling tracks in future town planning. Cycling is pollution free, it improves health and is also a less expensive mode of transportation and so Akhilesh decided to motivate people to resort to it. After Lucknow, he announced to develop Noida as a “cycle-friendly” city by building 50km of dedicated corridors across the city in a bid to promote green transport. The young CM also laid the foundation for a 2,400-acre green lung in Greater Noida. Many more cities are being developed as cycle-friendly cities all through the state.
We surely have the best reasons to vote for the youngest CM of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh, once again.
